CCEA approved the Ahmedabad (Sarkhej)-Dholera Semi High-Speed Double Line on 13 May 2026 at Rs 20,667 crore, India's first semi high-speed line, 134 km, targeted for completion up to 2030-31, connecting Ahmedabad, the SIR, the airport and Lothal (PIB release 2260624). The widely-quoted 220 km/h figure is press-sourced; PIB states cost, length and timeline, not a speed.
